A Great House Extinguished

The Rise and Fall of House Bolton

A Great House Extinguished

House Bolton's History and Legacy

House Bolton was an ancient and powerful Great House of Westeros, with its roots in the northern regions of the continent. They once ruled as Red Kings from the Dreadfort, their lands stretching from the Last River to the Wolfswood. However, their reign came to an end after the Targaryen conquest of Westeros.

During the War of the Five Kings, Lord Roose Bolton played a pivotal role in the struggle for control of the North. He usurped the position of ruling Great House from House Stark, becoming the Lord of the Dreadfort. His bastard son, Ramsay Bolton, legitimized and known as Ramsay Snow, later became his heir.

However, the Bolton's rule was short-lived. After Ramsay's cruelties and treacherous actions, their hold on the North crumbled. House Bolton was ultimately extinguished, leaving behind a legacy of fear and bloodshed.
